The challenge

The world renowned auction house, Christies, came to Oracle Storage needing to update their existing storage system to house their ever growing collection of bound catalogues, dating back to 1766. The challenge we had was to design a bespoke mobile shelving system that was sympathetic to interior finish and the needs of the client. The small space available was underground and difficult to access meaning a specialist delivery and installation was required.

The solution

We designed a robust mobile shelving system, giving full consideration to the size and weight of the archive, the available space including lighting conditions and the surroundings.

Mobile shelving capacity is improved greatly by utilising every inch of available space, including alcoves in rear wall. The infill floor enables easy trolley access to the system and prevents potential trip hazards.
