Conventional static shelving provides greater storage capacity than conventional four-drawer filing cabinets and combines versatility with good accessibility of either side of the shelving bays.
However, this is where Oracle's mobilis mobile shelving & roller racking is so effective. By eliminating the need for several access aisles between static shelving runs and because the mobile system moves along floor tracks, the space for only one aisle is needed.
When an item or file is required the particular shelving bay is identified and an adjacent aisle is created, by moving the mobile shelving units apart.
On each movable hand-wheel is a lock, this can be used so that when a person is down the aisle picking a file or item, the mobiles themselves won't move, until the person has come out of the aisle & released the locks
